Master of Education - Special Education

If you are an educator certified in special education, Messiah University’s Master of Education with a degree track in special education will enhance your knowledge through a concentrated area of study. This degree track is also appropriate for those who do not hold special education certification but want to study the field of special education for the purpose of working with individuals with disabilities in settings other than public schools. 

Special Education overview

The special education M.Ed. track is designed for individuals who are certified in special education and are interested in enhancing their knowledge base through a concentrated area of study or for those who do not hold special education certification but want to study the field of special education for the purpose of working with individuals with disabilities in settings other than public schools. For those students who currently hold special education certification, this track offers advanced coursework with focused study in one of the following concentrations autism spectrum disorders, emotional and behavioral disorders or specific learning disabilities.

Tuition cost for the entire program at the 2025-2026 rate: ranges from $24,000 (30 credits) to $26,400 (33 credits)
